monthly statistics for commodities – January 2020

In this post I will provide You a monthly statistics for some commodities. It can be useful for swing traders and to find a seasonality on commodities market.

As usual, I provide two type of data: for long-time period and for past 10 years. It’s twelve commodities and if there is strong numers (above 70% for long-term and above 80% for 10-years period) I add also an average range.

  • Brent oil:
    30-years period: 53% long
    10-years period: 50/50
  • Natural Gas:
    43-years period: 51% long
    10-years period: 90% short – average range -6,18%
  • Gold:
    48-years period: 63% long
    10-years period: 70% long
  • Silver:
    56-years period: 70% long – average range +6,62%
    10-years period: 70% long
  • Cotton:
    60-years period: 50/50
    10-years period: 60% long
  • Orange Juice:
    52-years period: 52% long
    10-years period: 70% long
  • Cocoa:
    60-years period: 63% short
    10-years period: 60% short
  • Sugar:
    118-years period: 51% short
    10-years period: 60% long
  • Coffee:
    47-years period: 51% short

    10-years period: 50/50
  • Wheat:
    60-years period: 55% short
    10-years period: 60% long
  • Soybean:
    60-years period: 68% long
    10-years period: 60% long
  • Corn:
    118-years period: 55% long
    10-years period: 70% long
